Earl S. Kauffman Remembrance Day Luncheon

Dr. Earl F. Kauffman arrived in Aiken at the age of 82 and initiated a planning committee to develop and implement a program for the community's mature residents. In 1990, this committee created a mission statement for what was to become the Academy for Lifelong Learning (later the Center for Lifelong Learning) at the University of South Carolina Aiken.

The annual Earl F. Kauffman Recognition Day and Award is a luncheon hosted annually to celebrate the significant contribution made by Dr. Kauffman. It is made possible by an endowment fund established in 1990 by Dr. James Kauffman upon the death of his father Earl.

This year's luncheon will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM, in the Etherredge Center Lobby, Lower Level, on campus.

Invitations (with a required RSVP) will be emailed to Center members in March. There is no charge for a member to attend.
